Voter Registration Information

In order to vote, a person must be a registered voter. The requirementsto become a registered voter are:

Be a United States citizen;

Be a resident of Utah for at least 30 days immediately beforethe next Election;

Be at least 18 years old by the next election; and

Have principal place of residence in a specific votingprecinct in Utah.

Qualified persons can register in person in the Iron County Clerk Office, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., upuntil 15 days prior to the date of the next election. They will be able to votein the upcoming election, but will not be able to utilize early voting becausethey missed the 30-day deadline.

How do I register to vote?

Online Download and print either a Utah Voter RegistrationForm or a NationalVoter Registration Form (for individuals who are residents of anotherstate). Once completed, mail the form to the Iron County Clerks Office, P.O.Box 429, Parowan, UT 84761-0429. If possible, include a photocopy of your driver's license or anotherform of picture identification with the registration form, otherwise you willbe required to present this information at the polls. Must be postmarked 30days before the election to be registered for the upcoming election.

Phone Book There is also a voter registration form in The White Pages (located atthe end of the blue government section). This form can be photocopied. Oncecompleted, it should be mailed to the Iron County Clerks Office - P.O. Box429, Parowan, UT 84761-0429.  Ifpossible, include a photocopy of your driver's license or another form ofpicture identification with the registration form, otherwise you will berequired to present this information at the polls.

In-PersonRegistration The 15 day or before an election,a person may register to vote in person at the county clerks office. You willonly be eligible to vote on elections. Iron County Clerks Office, 68 South 100East, Parowan, Utah.

DriversLicense & State Agency Offices Registrationforms are also available at State Agency Offices, including the Drivers LicenceDivision, Division of Workforce Services, Utah State Department of Health,Women, Infant and Children (WIC) Offices, the Division of Services for Peoplewith Disabilities, the Department of Rehabilitation, and public colleges anduniversities.

 

When do I register to vote?

 Postmark Deadline: Voter registration forms must be postmarked at least 30 days before anelection in order to vote in that election; or

 In-Person Registration: You may register in-person at the County Clerk's Office bythe 15th day before the election. You will not be eligible to vote early.

 When to Re-register: Voter registration is validfor life, unless you

  • Move
  • Change your name, or
  • Wish to affiliate with a different party

Tochange your voter registration status for any of the above reasons, simply fillout a new voter registration form.

What are the requirements?

Age At least 18 years-old on or before the next election.

Citizenship A citizen of the United States.

Residency A resident of Utah for at least 30 daysbefore the election. An applicant is considered a resident of Utah if he or shehas his principal place of residence within Utah and intends to continue toreside within Utah indefinitely.
