I have lived In Iron County for 61 years

What do you see as your top priorities if you are elected?:

1. Water
2. Prairie Dogs
3. Energy Sources-Wind and Solor 
4. Balanced Budget 
5. County Safety 
6. Future Growth & Development

Why are you running for this office?:
I have lived In Cedar City all of my life. Many great men and women have served to make Iron County what It Is today. Now It Is my turn to step up and serve the citizens of this County and make It a great place to live,work and raise a family. I represent all of the citizens and not any special Intrest groups.

What is your professional background?:

1. District Safety Risk Management Director for the Utah Department of Transportation for 31 years-Retired 
2. Business owner for 17 years 
3. Currenty serving on the board of adjustments Cedar City Corportation 
4. Currenty serving on the board of directors of the Thunderbird club Southern Utah University

What is the last book you read?:
Sarah Palin-Going Rouge

What would you like to improve about the management of Iron County?:
I would like to bring back a team effort for all departments in County Government. There is a fracture of communication and trust

What is your position on federal funding for prairie dog control in Iron County?:
The Prairie Dog belongs to the Federal Government. As citizens and County residents we should not have to fund the care, up keep, removal and transplant costs of Federal animals. We should have the right as private property owners to decide what, where and when we build, sell or do nothing with our property. 

What do you believe is the best solution for Iron County's energy needs?:

1. Wind generated Energy 
2. Solor Energy

What is your vision for providing water in Iron County in the coming years?:
We need to develop more water resources for the growth and development that will come to Iron County. This includes all of Iron County from it's west borders to the East including every community in between including Brian Head, Parowan, Paragonah and Kanaraville to the South 

What is the county's role regarding property rights?:
The County needs to protect and defend the property rights of it's citizens without telling them what to do on their own property.

What is your plan for management of county tax dollars?:
Maintain a balanced budget while still proving current services. This will be a difficult task with the revenue short falls that we have. Belt tightning will need to happen but the work ethic of our employees have a great get it done attitude and we will move past these tough times.

What would you like to see more of in Iron County?:
I would like to see more manufacturing, construction, mining and tourism related industry. This will provide more jobs and bolster the economy. We sit at the center of a great rail and freeway Interstate system. It Is a Ideal place for company's to build or relocate here and we need to go after them.

What principles of good government will you follow to help you in your decisions?:
Keep the citizens Informed of all of the Issues and ask for their Input.We work for the residents of the County and I want to hear from them on how they want Issues resolved.

Why should we vote for you?:
I represent leadership,change,energy and a new direction for the county.Iam proactive and one who wants things done now, not tomorrow, next week or next year. WE are at a critical time in our country and our county. Now Is the time for positive changes and a new look. Together we can make a difference and make Iron County a great place to live
